Cranberry Dental Care Trades Facebook “Likes” For Dollars to Benefit Cranberry CUP

The dental practice will donate $1 to the non-profit for each new "like" it receives.

A Cranberry dental practice is using social media to raise money for a local non-profit.

From July 1 through Aug. 4, Cranberry Dental Care will donate $1 to the Cranberry CUP (Community Uniting People), a nonprofit dedicated to helping local families in need.

Each summer, the Cranberry CUP holds a golf outing as well as its signature fundraiser, the popular neighborhood softball tournament.

This year, the nonprofit is adding a new event—a 5K Run/Walk and Kids 1-mile Fun Run.

This year’s festivities take place Aug. 2-4. The race will take place at 8 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 3 at Cranberry Community Park. The Cranberry CUP Opening Ceremonies are at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 3 in the park.

The beneficiary family for 2013 is the Longs, of Cranberry.

A longtime volunteer and single mother of three, Kim Long was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma last June.
