Fossil-free Energy Fair

The theme of the Fair is “Energizing for a Sustainable Future,” and will feature Patricia DeMarco, the former director of the Rachael Carson Institute. Patricia and others will speak on energy conservation and viability of Wind, Solar and Hydro for energy generation. The economic benefits of job creation, business development, and energy independence will be  presented by Paul Scanlon and John Golden from the Sustainable Enterprise Accelerator at Slippery Rock University.

The Fair, being held under roof of the Carousel shelter at Alameda Park in Butler Pennsylvania will go on rain or shine.  Zero Fossil, a portable power provider, will supply solar generated power for the entire event. Free hot dogs, cooked with solar generated power will be a special feature.

Entertainment will be provided by Grugi, a local music duo and a spectacular show by the Butler County Hooping Community.

Vendors, such as solar installers, energy choice suppliers offering 100% wind power, and others will will be on hand to talk about and display their products. County residents who have switched to renewable energy will be on hand to answer questions on their experience.
