Announcing Auditions:

Tricounty Choir Institute Presents:

"Why Must He Die?"

Writer/Director- Linda Wallace

Open to HS through Adults for On stage Cast ,or Village Singers-singing in pews

SUNDAY, JANUARY  27, 2-6PM at St. James Church's Gathering Space,

200 Walnut St.  in Sewickley, 15143

It is a meditation through music, liturgical
dance and drama on the life, death and resurrection of Jesus.  This is done by using a play within a play.
Throughout the trial of Jesus, the action is stopped.  The apostles and holy women are seen reflecting on Jesus' life and reacting on what led Jesus to His death.  They share these thoughts with the audience as if they hypothetically would have been allowed to observe the trial. In Jesus'
own words, He recalls the Garden of Gethsemane and thinks ahead to His death on the cross.  Every cast member is a character from the Bible and each character is on stage the entire play and is involved in all the choral numbers.  Each will be given private vocal and acting coaching.  If you are interested in singing with the choral only, you can join the other Village Singers, who will be seated in the first pews of the churches to sing in the production. This will be the 22nd year of consecutive
performances of "Why Must He Die?"

There will be 11 performances in 11 different churches of all denominations during Lent in the month of March.  The performances are on Friday evenings and Sunday afternoons and evenings.
