Cranberry Jewish Community Farewell to Hanukkah

The Cranberry Jewish Community association will be marking the little-known and seldom-observed ninth day of Hanukkah this year – 5773 according to the Hebrew calendar.

The group’s Hanukkah celebration party, which will take place on Sunday, December 16 from 12:30 until 3:00 PM, begins one day after the formal conclusion of the eight-day holiday on December 15.

The party’s scheduling will also avoid any conflicts with a different sacred observance – the Steeler’s game at Dallas – scheduled to begin at 4:15 that same Sunday.

But there will be no room for tears as this year’s holiday draws to an end.

Instead, the culmination of Hanukkah 2012 will be marked with fun, friendship, and traditional festive foods including latkes, jelly doughnuts, and fruit in the Pittsburgh Room of the Marriott North, on Rt. 228.
