Severe Thunderstorm Watch Issued for Cranberry

Storms sweep through our area Wednesday afternoon.

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the Cranberry area on Wednesday until until 9 p.m.

Severe thunderstorms capable of producing damaging winds in excess of 60 miles per hour could be passing through the area.

The afternoon thunderstorms left about 18,000 Duquesne Light customers without power. Duquesne Light spokesman Joey Vallarian said crews are working to restore electricity to affected areas, but did not know when everyone would have power.
