Port Authority Adjourns Meeting to Allow Union Vote

The drivers union submitted the proposal to the board this morning.

The Port Authority of Allegheny County board at midday adjourned a rowdy, crowded meeting in order to permit its drivers union to vote on a last-minute concession proposal aimed at staving off route cuts and layoffs.

The drivers union submitted the proposal to the board this morning in an effort to postpone the cuts scheduled to take effect Sunday.

The meeting ended before the board had a chance to vote on a proposal from Lenzner Coach Line to provide private service from the park-n-ride lot in Marshall Township and two other stops in Franklin Park.
