PA Fish and Boat Commission Begins Trout Stocking

Dig out your fishing gear.

Opening day of trout season is Saturday, April 13 in most Pennsylvania counties, and the state Fish and Boat Commission is stocking local streams and lakes in preparation.

Bear Creek

Troutman Road bridge upstream of Troutman to First bridge upstream of Bruin: brook and brown trout beginning at 11:30 a.m. April 15 at I-79 exit 22 Wexford; brown and rainbow at 12:45 p.m. May 16, I-79 exit 22 Wexford. Regulation Commonwealth Inland Waters.

Bonnie Brook

Bonnie Brook Road bridge to the mouth: brown and rainbow trout on March 15, and meeting at 11:15 a.m. April 26 at the Worthington Fire Hall parking lot on Route 422. Commonwealth Inland Waters.

Buffalo Creek

Upstream end of Municipal Park in Chicora to mouth of Little Buffalo Run: browns and rainbows at 11:15 a.m. March 30 and April 26 at the Worthington Fire Hall parking lot on Route 422. Commonwealth Inland Waters. 

Confluence with Little Buffalo Run to upstream from Craigsville Road: brown and rainbow on March 2 and 12:30 p.m. April 25 at Worthington Fire Hall parking lot on Route 422. Delayed Harvest Artificial Lures Only.

Connoquenessing Creek

Lake Oneida to Route 356 bridge: browns and rainbows March 6, April 15 and May 6. Commonwealth Inland Waters. 

Cornplanter Run

T-658 bridge to mouth: brooks and browns at 11:15 a.m. April 10 at Goheenville and Route 28.

Harbar Acres Lake

Brooks and browns at 11 a.m. April 11 at Boyers Sportsman Association on Boyers Road off Route 308 and at 10:45 a.m. May 1 at West Sunbury-North at the intersection of Route 308 and Route 138. 

Little Buffalo Run

First bridge above T630 to mouth: brown and rainbow at 11:15 a.m. March 30 and April 26 at Worthington Fire Hall parking lot on Route 422. 

Little Connoquenessing Creek

Route 422 to Dick Road bridge: brown and rainbow on March 15, April 15 and May 6 at Worthington Fire Hall.  

North Branch Slippery Rock Creek

White Oak Road bridge to confluence of Slippery Rock Creek: browns and rainbows at 10:30 a.m. March 25 and 10:45 a.m. at Boyers Sportsman Association on Boyers Road off Route 308, and at 10:45 a.m. May 1 at West Sunbury-North at the intersection of Route 308 and Route 138.

Silver Creek

Bridge at T633 to mouth: brooks at 11:30 a.m. April 12 at Bruin Bowling Alley on Route 268.  

Slippery Rock Creek

Downstream Slippery Rock Road and Route 422 at Rose Point: browns and rainbows March 8, and 11 a.m. April 24 and  May 24 at the intersection of Route 19 and Route 108.

Thorn Creek

Great Belt Road bridge to Hicks Road bridge: browns and rainbows on March 5 and 11 a.m. April 29 at Lake Oneida-first bridge downstream of dam Hoon Road.
