Look For Traffic Stoppages on Route 28 Southbound

Delays likely to occur daily at 40th Street Bridge intersection from April 13 through June.

You know Route 28 will be fabulous when all the construction is finished, but until then ... well, here come the inconveniences.

From April 13 through early June, you can expect short-term traffic stoppages on southbound Route 28 at the 40th Street Bridge intersection in the Borough of Millvale.

"Concrete trucks will be delivering to the construction site between 7 and 9 a.m. on weekdays. Brief stoppages of 5 minutes or less may occur on southbound Route 28 to accommodate truck movements and access," according to a statement from PennDOT District 11.

Motorists should use caution, stay alert and dream of the day when the road construction is finished.

The $23.5 million Route 28 East Ohio Street Improvement Project 40th Street Bridge work includes widening and reconstructing the busy, narrow corridor from about 1,300 feet north of the 31st Street Bridge intersection to approximately 2,560 feet north of the 40th Street Bridge interchange.
