Jason Daily, Cranberry's director of public works, has said the township is occurs.

While he doubted there would be flooding, should the unexpected happen, he said the township has sand bags ready.

The township's low-lying areas include Robin Hood Drive, Sherwood Drive, the Clearbrook neighborhood, Rochester Road and other areas around Brush Creek.

Over in Zelienople, borough manager Don Pepe said he’s keeping an eye on Connoquenessing Creek. The area was put under a flood watch Thursday afternoon. As of 8:30 a.m. Friday, Pepe said the creek was moving quickly, but didn't look like it will spill over.

“I just came back from a tour of all the “hotspots” and everything’s fine,” he said.

Unless there’s an unexpectedly large rainfall, Pepe said borough residents shouldn’t worry about flooding. The National Weather Service predicts the rain will turn over to snow by later this afternoon.

“I hope it stays that way,” Pepe said. “Mother Nature isn’t always good at cooperating.”
