Get Ready for Route 19 Lane Closures Monday

PennDOT road improvements in Marshall Township will last throughout most of the month.

Get ready for more traffic congestion on area roads.

In addition to the work already underway on Interstate 79, there will be short-term lane closures on Route 19 in Marshall Township beginning Monday and lasting throughout most of the month, according to PennDOT.

Crews will install Intelligent Transportation System facilities in the area under the I-79 overpass. Lane and shoulder closures will occur as needed on Route 19 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through April 21.

PennDOT said there should be no restrictions on I-79.

PennDOT spokesman Jim Sturzzi said motorists should use caution, slow down, and expect changing patterns when traveling through the area.

Drivers also can log on to 511pa.com or call 511 from any phone to check traffic conditions on most major roadways before traveling.
