Become an Ambassador for the New Cranberry Kids Castle Playground in Three Easy Steps

Becoming an Ambassador for the new Kids Castle Playground in three easy steps!

When my kids were little I wasn’t able to leave my house very much.

It took so long just to load everyone in the car that they were cranky, or tired, or hungry five minutes into the trip. I mostly loaded the twins in the jogging stroller, put the third kid in the baby backpack, harnessed the two big dogs and the baby in my belly came along for the ride (see pictures).

Even though it was just 30 minutes around the neighborhood, the fresh air, activity, and sometimes even sunshine, improved everyone’s mood. Once we were able to roam away from home for longer periods of time, we discovered the Cranberry playgrounds.

These are the small things you tend to take for granted. Cranberry has some great playgrounds and I would LOVE to hear all the amazing ways you take advantage of these community parks and playgrounds.

I would also love it if each person who has used Playtime Palace in the past would get involved in some way, however small, in making the Kids Castle playground a reality!

If your time is limited, like mine used to be with lots of small children, perhaps you are able to make a monetary donation.

Perhaps you have a local business and are able to donate services toward the project. Perhaps you really like to build things and are able to help the community build a portion of the playground.

In short, this is YOUR community—and YOU can help it be great! YOU can help it be “The best place in PA to raise a family” (from Bloomberg Business Week).  YOU can help this playground get built in its entirety and have it ready to be played on in early fall.

It is up to YOU!

We are looking for 100 people with a few hours to spare in the upcoming months.

We would like to get representatives from each neighborhood to help with the Playground fundraising efforts. Your efforts can be forever memorialized on a paver in the new playground based on your level of involvement.

But, your efforts will also be enjoyed by thousands of children over decades of time at the Kids Castle. And, your efforts will provide those thousands of children with exercise, fresh air, socialization and the opportunity to be a part of their community.

In the digital age that we live in, time spent outside moving our bodies with our friends face to face is a true gift! Please consider helping make that gift possible to our children now and to future generations of children and grandchildren!

BECOMING AN AMBASSADOR IN 3 EASY STEPS

Step One:

Go to www.CTCChest.org and look for the playground tab. Or contact Bruce Mazzoni at brucemazzoni@zoominternet.net or call 724-772-4806, ext. 1103

Step Two:

Pick up the prepared materials (envelopes, letters to be personalized, donation forms and playground information forms) at the Cranberry Township Municipal Building. Hand address your envelopes or print mailing labels for your neighbors and friends who you are sending the letters to. Write a short personal note about why this project is important to you and why it is great for the community.

Step Three:

Return your envelopes (addressed and unsealed) and your personalized letter.  Cranberry will even make copies of your letter (if you are sending out large quantities), stuff the envelopes and mail them for you!

I personally am going to type my letter, copy it and place it with the note card that I will handwrite the greeting and my signature. I only have about 50 homes I am mailing to.

Maybe next week I will share my personal note so you have an idea of what you could write to your friends and neighbors.

What could be easier?

Truthfully, this new playground is going to be great, and if you plan on using it a donation of a few hours of your time is an amazing way to give back and to ensure that the playground is built in its entirety this summer!

Please email me at cranberrykidscastleplayground@gmail.com or post comments about your FAVORITE memories of the Playtime Palace. I’d love to see pictures too!

Until next week,

Erin McClymonds
