Girl Scout Junior Troop 25141 Earned the Bronze Award!

For Girl Scout Juniors (grades 4-5) the Bronze Award is the symbol of the highest achievement available.  It represents months of dedication, learning and planning a significant service project.  Girls who succeed in earning their Bronze Award have demonstrated that they are committed and caring young women who can see a goal and take the steps to make that goal happen.

This past January, Troop 25141 earned their Bronze Award by hosting an American Girl Doll Tea for girls and their grandmothers.  Troop members Claira Matthews, Jaclyn Valentas, Bailey Salameh, Tessa Dejeet, and Brooke Bowers organized on an event to teach younger troops proper manners, table setting, and even the art of napkin folding.  Troop members learned how to sew before the event so that each attendee could have a hat and scarf for their American girl doll in addition to the doll sash that attendees were able to decorate.

Girls in the troop had to learn about menus, planning events, decorations, invitations , RSVP 's and countless other skills needed for executing a successful event.

According to troop leader Kim Matthews, "It was a great learning experience they learned so much , and realize the hardwork that goes into an event."

Cranberry Area Girl Scouts would like to congratulate Troop 25141 for earning your Bronze Award.  We are very proud to have such dedicated and strong young leaders in our community and are excited to see what you have planned for your next few years as Girl Scouts!
