On Monday Jan. 30, while most kids in Cranberry Township were enjoying a day off from class, Cadette Sabra Richart from Troop 20457 choose to go to school.

She volunteered for the entire day at Community Day School, a Jewish day school in Squirrel Hill. While there, Sabra divided her time between the institutional advancement office working on marketing promotions.

She learned about how brand identity and competition is just as important in small non-profit companies such as local private schools as they are to international giants.

After spending time on the administrative side of education, Sabra worked in the school's library. The librarian introduced Sabra to how school libraries operate and taught her how to check books back in after children return them and then find their designated location on the shelves.

Sabra also was able to enjoy some hands-on time with Community Day School's second-grade students.
