23rd Day of 100 Days of Caring by Cranberry Girl Scouts

Brownie Troop 20135 collects items for Gleaners Food Bank.

On Dec. 26, Brownie Troop #20135 collected food items and “extras” for the Gleaners Food Bank of Cranberry.

After talking with the people at Gleaners, we decided to collect toiletry and cleaning items to help people who do not have enough money to purchase those necessities.

Gleaners said most people do not donate these items, but that they also are very much needed. Some of the items we collected to donate are: toothpaste, toothbrushes, razors, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, toilet paper, cleaning products and soap.

The girls also decorated bags for people to take their groceries home in from the food bank. We plan to visit Gleaners Food Bank in January to let the girls see where their donations went and how the food bank works.
