You'll be Able to Hail a Cab Soon in Cranberry

The Public Utilities Commission OKs request from Yellow Cab Co. of Pittsburgh to expand service.

Yellow Cab Co. of Pittsburgh will expand service soon to Cranberry Township and neighboring localities.

The Pennsylvania Public Utilities Commission unanimously approved a request Thursday to expand service to Pine, Marshall, Bradford Woods and Franklin Park in Allegheny County, according to TribLive.com.

In Butler County, the cab service will serve Adams, Cranberry, Mars and Seven Fields.

Yellow Cab, which is owned by Pittsburgh Transportation Group, has been serving Pittsburgh since 1913, according to its website.

"[Potential customers] have complained about a lack of service in the greater North Hills, especially after 5 p.m." Jamie Campolongo, president and chief executive officer of Pittsburgh Transportation Group, said in a July article on Patch. "As the largest cab operator in Western Pennsylvania, we believe we can fill that gap."
