This week's restaurant spotlight is located off Freedom Road in Cranberry.
Opened in 2008, the diner has an extensive menu of local favorites, including meatloaf, burgers, sandwiches and breakfast items. The diner is heavily involved in charitable activities in the Cranberry area, such as its annual Christmas dinner where the proceeds go to a local food bank.
The Chamber of Commerce Inc., which serves Cranberry and the North Hills, and Cranberry Township Community Chest, an organization that partners with local nonprofit organizations, also named Freedom Square Diner the Business of the Year in 2012.
Freedom Square Diner also was a Patch 2012 Readers' Choice winner for Best Brunch.
