Readers’ Choice Poll: Freedom Square Diner Nabs Best Brunch Win

The family-owned restaurant on Freedom Road blew away the competition in this The diner received 78 percent of the votes. In second place was Cranberry’swhich had 12 percent of the votes.

“We just appreciate all the people in Cranberry,” said Shawn Cross, whose family owns the restaurant. “We do a lot for them and we appreciate that they voted for us.”

Besides serving up a great meal, Freedom Square Diner also is heavily involved in working with local charities, including the Cranberry CUP, The Miracle League of Southwestern Pennsylvania—which has its field at in Cranberry—and Gleaners Food Bank of Cranberry.

“We take care of our customers and they take care of us,” Cross said.

As anyone who has tried to snag a seat at the diner on a Sunday morning already knows, Freedom Square has been a hit with residents since it opened in June 2009.

“It has been everything and then some,” Cross said of the restaurant’s popularity. “We definitely have a good time with it.”
