Noodles & Company Open for Business in Cranberry

The fast casual chain serves a variety of noodle dishes from around the world.

Cranberry residents have another new dining option in the community.

On Monday, Noodles & Company, a fast casual chain specializing in noodle dishes from Thailand to Italy, opened in the Cranberry Crossroads retail plaza along Route 228.

“The basis of our menu is flavors inspired from around the world, and then we also have soups, salads and sandwiches,” said Noodles & Company spokeswoman Mandy Melby.

The Colorado-based company—which has more than 300 locations in 28 states—began opening restaurants in the Pittsburgh market last year, Melby said.

In addition to the Cranberry location, a Noodles & Company opened in Monroeville last week. There also are restaurants in Market Square in Pittsburgh and on Forbes Avenue in Oakland.

“When we enter a market, we really look for opportunities to grow the brand much beyond one or two restaurants,” Melby said.

As for the globally-inspired menu, it includes noodles from three cuisines—Asian, Mediterranean and American. Some of the featured items are Wisconsin Mac & Cheese, Pad Thai and Pesto Cavatappi.

Melby added the company focuses on high quality, fresh ingredients. Most of the dishes start as vegetarian plates with the option of adding a protein. Once meat is added, most dishes cost around $8, Melby said.

“Everything is cooked to order just as the guest prefers it,” she said.

Melby said the company also gives back to the communities where they have locations. On “benefit nights” a portion of the sales proceeds are given to a local school or nonprofit, she said.

“We love to be in communities that also are community minded,” she said.
