Gifted Hands Gift Shop Relocates

The grand opening takes place Thursday, Sept. 12 through Saturday, Sept. 14.

Those looking for a cute, handmade gift from the Gifted Hands Gift Shop will have to update their GPS.

The shop is moving from its old location at 100 Church Road to a new spot at 3000 Village Run Road in the Village at Pine. The grand opening ceremony takes place on Thursday, Sept. 12, and lasts until Saturday, Sept. 14 and features refreshments, door prizes, freebies and specials.

The new location is about a one mile, three minute drive away from the old location.

"Business had grown quite a bit, and our parking lot wasn't able to hold enough cars," said owner Shelley Hoare. "We needed more parking. We weren't as accessible. The location that we had was hard to maneuver and to get to, especially if you're heading north to Wexford."

Customers are excited about the move, said Hoare. The design of the new store has a more upscale feel compared to the cozy atmosphere of the old location, which she thinks customers will appreciate.

"Some of them seemed sad because they really liked our old place, but the feedback has been wonderful at the new location because they can get to it better and they have better parking," she said.

The three-day grand opening celebration will focus on a different theme each day. On Thursday, the fall and winter designs of the popular Crystal Garden jewelry line will be revealed along with special offers on these items.

Friday will see a trunk show from a local jewelry designer, along with more special offers in the store. Saturday is dubbed "Gifted Paws" and is entirely dedicated to the pet owner clientele and their furry friends. A local dog treat specialist will be on hand with free samples as well as a doggy-safe cake, and a local artist will be offering painted paw print pottery.

"It's an actual real print from the dog, we'll do that outside," Hoare said. "That goes into her kiln, gets fired and they're really cool mugs and ornaments."

The Gifted Hands Gift Shop carries a variety of jewelry, houseware, baby and clothing products. It is known for its focus on local products, offering items from over 30 different local artisans. While the shop does carry national brands, they keep this to a minimum in order to showcase the talent of the community.

The shop is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday and from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
