Have a Heart for Animals

This one has the “awwww” factor. Bottlebrush: A Gallery for the Arts in Harmony is hosting the “Have a Heart for Animals” fundraiser for the Butler County Humane Society from 6 to 9 p.m. on Feb. 14.

The Valentine’s Day event includes live music, yummy refreshments from local restaurants, door prizes, a raffle, a silent auction and a scavenger hunt. The Humane Society also is bringing some of the animals looking for new homes. Animal-themed art will be on display from regional artists.

Attendees are asked to bring a toy, food, blankets, kitty litter or other items for the animals.

Go for a Couple’s Skate

North Park Ice Skating Rink is hosting a "Sweetheart Couples Skate" from 7:30 to 9 p.m. on Thursday. Buy one admission and get one free. Couples of all ages are invited and each will receive a carnation while supplies last.

Buy Her Some Bling

Guys, you’re practically guaranteed extra kisses if you show up with some bling for your lady. Fortunately, there are many high-quality jewelry stores to choose from in the Cranberry area, including Mathew Jewelers (which has locations in Cranberry and Zelienople), Moses Jewelers in Seven Fields and Casa D’Oro inside the Sheraton on Route 19 in Mars.

For the Single Ladies and Gents…

Red is Dead Anti-Valentine's Day Party

Celebrate being hot and single, and enjoy some time to mingle. Stop by Olive or Twist on Feb. 14 at 7 p.m. There's a $5 cover, but if you bring a picture of your ex and shred it at the door you get in free. There will be a live DJ, hors d'ouerves and drink specials.
