Cranberry Cinemas Addition, New Enterprise Center, Get Approval in Cranberry

The theater plans to add two new screening rooms.

Coming soon to a theater near you—expansions.

At Thursday’s Board of Supervisors meeting, Cranberry officials approved plans to expand the Cranberry Cinemas located off Freedom Road by 6,071 square feet.

As part of the extension, the family-owned theater will take over the neighboring Subway, which has since moved to a new location in the Cranberry Mall.

A roughly 2,388 square feet addition would be added to the building in front of Subway, squaring it off with the current entrance to the theater.

George Haberman, senior project manager at Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc., has said the expansion would add two additional screening rooms to the theater. Both viewing rooms will include stadium seating.

The addition will cause the parking lot to lose several spaces, he noted.

As part of the township’s streetscape enhancement requirements, developers also will add plants, shrubbery, sidewalks and a bike rack to the front of the mall’s parking lot along Freedom Road.

A crosswalk also will be added connecting the mall to the Sheetz convenience store and gas station located across the way on Freedom Road.

Enterprise on Route 19

Officials also approved plans for a one-story Enterprise Rent-a-Car.

The 6,938 square foot vehicle sales, rental and service facility will be located at 20840 Route 19.
