Bulldozers Raze Cranberry Vet Hospital To Make Way For Bank

The intersection of Route 19 and Ogleview Drive is looking a little different these days.

On Monday, a bulldozer set to work demolishing the former Cranberry Veterinary Hospital to make way for a Farmers National Bank.

Opened in 1971 by Dr. Gunther Lil, the veterinary hospital closed earlier this year. Lil told Patch he planned to downscale his practice into a house call service.

The new bank, which will include a drive through teller's window and extensive landscaping, will be the second Farmers Bank branch in Butler County and the first in Cranberry.

A groundbreaking for the new bank will be held Tuesday, Aug. 13. The bank is expected to open by early 2014.
