Seneca Valley Singers Named Grand Champions at 'Festivals of Music'

Students take home an armload of awards.

Students in grades 7-12 in the Seneca Valley Choir departments competed in the “Festivals of Music” competition April 26 at the North Shore Center for the Performing Arts in Chicago.

They returned with an armful of awards, including three Grand Sweepstake Awards for:

  • Seneca Valley Madrigals Singers - Overall Top Choir Award
  • Seneca Valley Middle School Choir - Overall Junior High/Middle School Choir Award
  • Seneca Valley Senior High Concert Choir - Overall Mixed High School Choir Award

  • Madrigal singers - first place with a superior rating  - Renaissance Choir Division
  • Show Choir - second place with a superior rating – Show Choir Division
  • Men’s Choir - first place with an excellent rating – Men’s Choir Division
  • 9th and 10th Grade Girl’s Chorus - first place with an excellent rating - Jr./Sr. High Women’s Choir Open Division
  • 10th – 12th Grade Women’s Choir - first place with a superior rating - Women’s Choir Division
  • 8th Grade Choir - first place with a superior rating - Junior High/Middle School Division
  • 9th and 10th Choral Union - third place with an excellent rating - High School Mixed Chorus A Division
  • Senior High Concert Choir - first place with a superior rating - High School Mixed Chorus AA Division

Hayley Hoss earned a special soloist award as she was named Overall Vocalist winner.
