Cheers! Martinis with Monet Taking Place at Cranberry Library, Municipal Building

Participants can enter to win a free work of art by a local artist.

Cranberry will once again raise their glasses to support the art community—and to kick off the start of Cranberry Township Community Chest Community Days.

The second annual Martinis with Monet takes place from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, July 10 at the Cranberry Municipal Center and the Cranberry Public Library, which is located inside the municipal center.

Last year’s event at the Cranberry Highlands Golf Club drew nearly 150 people, the limit the facility can hold. To better handle the crowds, and display more of the art, the event was moved to the municipal center.

The art exhibit is hosted by Associated Artists of Butler County. It is the group’s invitational show.

“Basically, this is the best of the best in art and only those whose paintings were selected from their January Invitational Show in Butler were eligible to be displayed at the Cranberry Community Days exhibit,” a statement from CTCC said.

The paintings will be judged for cash prizes, and most of the art will be available for purchase by the public.

Last year, nine painting were sold at the exhibit and organizers are hoping to sell more pieces this years.

“This year we have made a stronger effort to make local businesses aware of the art exhibit and encourage them to purchase art for their offices,” a CTCC statement said. “It’s a good investment for them and our local artists, with many pieces increasing in value over time.”

All those who attend Martinis with Monet will be eligible for a drawing to win a free work of art by Mary Kay Richardson titled “Storm on the Horizon.”

The award-winning watercolor painting in a 22 x 28 inch frame currently is on displayed at the municipal building. (Click on the image at the top of this article to view the painting)

All proceeds from the event benefit the Associated Artists of Butler County to help expand art in the area.
