The National Weather Service's winter weather advisory now remains in effect until 7 p.m. Previously, the

"The combination of snow showers and blowing snow can still cause hazardous travel conditions through the evening," the weather service website states. "Nighttime conditions will add to the hazard impacts as increased traffic can cause ice to develop on untreated pavements beneath the packed-down snow."
