Winter Weather Advisory Extended Until 1 p.m. Sunday

The National Weather Service has extended the winter weather advisory in effect for southwestern Pennsylvania until 1 p.m. Sunday.

An accumulation of up to another two inches of snow is forecast as snow showers continue through the morning, the weather service stated in an 8:56 a.m. announcement. Blowing snow will reduce visibility and create hazardous travel conditions.

Winds from the west will be at around 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. The high temperature is expected to reach 24 degrees.

Today: Snow showers likely and areas of blowing snow before noon, then patchy blowing snow and scattered snow showers between noon and 4 p.m., then a slight chance of snow showers after 4 p.m. Cloudy, with a high near 24. West wind are around 17 mph, with gusts as high as 31 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent.

Tonight: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 14. West wind between 10 and 14 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph. 

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 31. West wind between 10 and 14 mph.

Monday Night: A chance of snow showers, mainly after 3 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 24. Southwest wind around 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent
