Where to Watch the Big Basketball Showdown

Big TVs, drink specials and half-price appetizers are lined up locally for the Final Four games this weekend.

The craziness of March Madness is in the air as college basketball tournament play heads into the Final Four this weekend.

Even though Pitt had a dismal showing this year and your brackets were probably shot a while ago, plenty of entertainment remains for basketball fans as the tournament comes down to the wire.

Whether you cheer for one of the unlikely underdogs or a higher ranked team, local watering holes have specials lined up for you as you watch the games on one of their many, many TVs.

Saturday's first game, Virginia Commonwealth University versus Butler, is scheduled for a 6:09 p.m. tipoff; the Kentucky versus Connecticut game is set to start at 8:49 p.m. Both games will be broadcast by CBS.

The national championship is scheduled for 9 p.m. Monday on CBS.

North Park Lounge and Bamboo Bar is a favorite gathering spot for sports fans.

In addition to more than 60 (yes, 60) TVs, the lounge will be offer its usual weekend specials during the games. On Saturday, enjoy Labatt's Blue and Labatt's Light Blue drafts for $2.50. On Sunday, the lounge has beer specials on Yuengling and Coors Light.

The restaurant is located on Route 19 in Cranberry Township.

will be offering a host of March Madness Game Day specials.

Owner Matt Hughes promises half-priced appetizers, tapas and pizzas, 35-cent wings, six sliders for $10 and other food specials as well as several drink specials including $2 Coors and Yuengling draft beer, $5 house wines, $5 martinis. Other Happy Hour specials will be available during both Saturday evening games and Monday’s big playoff game.

The restaurant is located in the Pine Tree Shoppes at 12087 Perry Highway, Wexford. 

in Cranberry Township

While the newly-opened Buffalo Wild Wings will not be offering March Madness specific specials, the staff expects lots of basketball fans for both Saturday and Monday games. Visit early for the happy hour specials from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday.

Buffalo Wild Wings is located on Old Freedom Road in the Cranberry Shoppes in Cranberry.

in Wexford

Owners Clint Kuskie and Gordon Judge are offering half-priced appetizers for all games and $3 Yuengling draft beer for March Madness fans. Happy-hour specials apply from 9 to 11 p.m. on Saturday and from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, including drink specials.

The Dive Bar & Grille is in the Pine Tree Shoppes at 12017 Perry Highway, Wexford. 

Scoreboard Restaurant & Lounge

Scoreboard owner Joe Johnston said he will be offering various drink specials for all Final Four games and the final on Monday night.

“We typically offer $2 bottle beer and a couple of dollars off on our draft,” he said.

Watch for other various drink specials throughout both nights, Johnston said.

Scoreboard is in northern Richland Township at 6179 William Flynn Highway, Valencia.

  

Visit the sports bar to watch the games and enjoy $3 draft beers – choose from more than 30 varieties -- and 50-cent jumbo wings after 10 p.m. Saturday and from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday.

Manager Dave Smith said the restaurant plans to offer food specials as well.

Poor Richard's is at 10501 Perry Highway, Wexford.
