Wanted: Cranberry Area Veterans for Seneca Valley Recognition Night

Contact the district now to be recognized during the Raiders first home football game of the season.

Seneca Valley will hold its annual Veteran Recognition Night during the first home football game of the season on Sept. 13  at NexTier Stadium on the secondary campus in Jackson Township.

Veterans and active military personnel from the community are invited and will be given free tickets to the game as well as special seating accommodations.

They also will be recognized on the track prior to kick-off.

Football players, cheerleaders, coaches and other members of the community will stop by the district’s tent area (just inside the lower ticket gate) to shake hands and personally thank these men and women for their service.

Prior to kick-off, the group will gather at 6 p.m. in the Seneca Valley Fieldhouse  to adhere American flag stickers to the team's football helmets for the season.

Afterward, the group marches down the track to appear before the home stands while the stadium announcer shares a message of thanks that highlights their sacrifice and service to the country.

Veterans interested in participating should send their name, address, phone number, military branch, rank and years of service to Linda Andreassi, communications director, at andreassill@svsd.net or by mailing it to Seneca Valley at 124 Seneca School Road, Harmony, Pa. 16037.

Tickets and details are mailed out to registered veterans in late August.
