Traffic Alert: Route 19 Work Taking Place in Zelie, Jackson Township

The work began Tuesday, Aug. 6.

Be on the lookout for orange cones on Route 19 in Zelienople and Jackson Township this week.

On Tuesday evening, PennDOT began work on a preventative maintenance project on the highway between Culvert Street and the Zelienople Bridge over the Connoquenessing Creek.

The $452,761 project includes milling, patching, and paving, as well as updating pavement markings and signage.

Flagger controlled, alternating traffic will be in place each night between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m., Monday through Friday, according to PennDOT.

PennDOT reminds motorists to be alert to changing conditions and to pay attention to flaggers in the work zone.
