Strong Thunderstorm Moving Through Butler County

Storm may produce intense lightning and some hail.

The National Weather Service has issued a special weather statement for Butler, Armstrong and Westmoreland counties.

A strong thunderstorm will affect extreme southeastern Butler County, according to forecasters. The storm was located three miles southeast of Natrona Heights at about 4:45 p.m. and is moving southeast at 15 mph.

The storm is expected to produce intense lightning and some hail.

Residents are warned to move indoors when they spot the storm, but not to seek shelter under trees.
