Route 228 Preservation Project Begins This Week

Work will take place near Route 8.

If you’re heading east of Cranberry, this roadwork on Route 228 could affect your commute.

PennDOT will begin work this week on Route 228 (Glade Mill Road) in Middlesex and Clinton townships.

Construction on this roughly four-mile stretch includes drainage, patching, shoulder widening, and paving on Route 228.

The work will take place from just east of Route 8 (Pittsburgh Road) to Route 2005 (Saxonburg Boulevard)

Daylight lane restrictions and alternating traffic will occur on Route 228 daily between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Paving operations will be performed after 9 a.m.

Congestion and delays are possible.

PennDOT reminds motorists to be alert to changing conditions and to pay attention to flaggers in the work zone. Fines are doubled in work areas.

Lindy Paving of New Galilee will construct the $2,094,203 roadway preservation project.  The project is expected to be complete by mid-October.
