Road Work Alert! Freedom Road Bridge Project Begins Next Week

Motorists on busy Freedom Road can expect to see orange cones on the bridge next week.

Deck patching and painting on the bridge is expected to begin Thursday, Aug. 8. The work will continue through late October.

The Pennsylvania Turnpike is managing the project, which does not include additional lanes or other improvements to traffic flow on the bridge.

For those worrying the work will cause traffic backup in the bridge, which is located on one of Cranberry's main thoroughfares, there is a silver lining.

The work will not take place during rush hours.

Instead, lane restrictions will be in place between 8 p.m and 6 a.m. The will be no lane restrictions on weekends.
