Pool Days: Kids Get Kayaking In Zelienople
A stand up paddle board class and yoga session will be held at the pool next week.
Local kids took advantage of the sunshine Monday morning to attend a kayaking class at the Zelienople Community Pool.
Dave McQuaid of Keystone Sojourns taught the session, which included the surprisingly tricky feat of getting into a floating kayak.
Tyler Flood (pictured above), the son of Zelienople Parks and Recreation director Alecia Flood, splashed intothe water several times before getting the hand of controlling his kayak.
If you missed Monday's session, McQuaid will be back next week.
Along with yoga instructor Dana Lowers, McQuaid will take part in a program that mixes stand up paddle boarding and yoga from 7:45 to 9 p.m. Monday, Aug. 19 at the Zelienople pool.
Participants are welcome to try yoga on a board in the pool and on dry land. McQuaid will also be teaching participants how to stand up in and maneuver the boards in the water.
The cost for the adults-only program is $10 per person.
