Cranberry-Colored Traffic Signal Now Hangs on Rochester Road

Rochester Road is getting a new look with the addition of a cranberry-colored traffic signal at the road's intersection with Graham Park Drive.

Cranberry Township manager Jerry Andree said the signal, which also flanks the entrance to , should be activated in about two weeks.

After that, he said, the signal will be in flash mode for about a week, then in full-function mode in time for the start of spring sports at the park.

Those aren't the only changes coming to the intersection. 

In February, Cranberry's Board of Supervisors gave approval for a 2,794-square-foot to be located at the crossroads of Graham Park Drive with Rochester Road in the BelleVue Park neighborhood.

Although the area is zoned for residential use,  a "Traditional Neighborhood Development" designation created by the township also permits developments such as the bank. A portion of near the Freedom Square shopping center also carries that designation.

Under Cranberry's streetscape ordinance, the bank is required to have extensive landscaping, including sidewalks, streetlights and benches.

The bank, which will sit on a 1.3-acre lot, also will have a drive-thru lane.
