Lights, Camera, Action! Cranberry Holding First Ever Dance for Pre-Teens

Cranberry will roll out the red carpet for a chaperoned affair.

You don’t need to be in high school to attend a dance with your friends.

Cranberry’s Parks & Recreation Department is hosting its first-ever casual dance for those ages 10 to 12 from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday, May 3 at the Cranberry Municipal Center.

The theme of the chaperoned dance is "Lights, Camera, Action" and features a red carpet. There also will be food and drink available for purchase on site.

While parents do not need to stay for the three-hour staff-supervised dance, they will need to sign their son/daughter in and out of the building during both drop-off and pick up.

Parents who wish to remain for the evening will be welcomed in Cranberry's nearby public library, where free coffee and doughnuts will be provided.

For those pre-teen fashionistas wondering what to wear, casual warm-weather attire is appropriate for the dance, along with sneakers or other soft-soled shoes to protect the gym's hardwood floor.

While dating couples are always welcome, most of those attending are expected to be singles and groups of friends. A $5 entrance fee per person is payable at the door.
