Last Chance: Electronics Recycling and Gun Licensing

Life gets busy. Deadlines creep up on us all. Patch helps you to remember—before it's too late.

Welcome to Last Chance, a Patch series reminding you of deadlines you don't want to miss. This weekend's dates to remember?

1. Electronics Recycling Event

Drop off your old electronics at this free event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Cranberry public works building off Route 19.

Accepted electronics include: computers, monitors, printers, keyboards, DVDs, VCRs, cameras, power tools, turntables, small appliances, game stations, window air conditioners, video recorders, speakers, radios and electronic toys. Also collected at no charge are compact fluorescent light bulbs and all types of batteries, except car batteries.

For televisions of any type or size there is a $10 fee.

Residents are asked not to bring items in plastic bags or packed in Styrofoam or with foam peanuts. There also will be an electronics recycling event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday in Zelienople at the intersection of Main and Spring streets.

2. Gun Licensing

Representatives from the Butler County Sheriff's Office will be available to renew/accept License to Carry applications from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday inside council chambers at the on Rochester Road. This is open to any Butler County resident.

3. SV JROTC 5K Run to Benefit Crohn’s Disease

Seneca Valley’s JROTC organization will sponsor a 5K Run/Walk Saturday at the . Registration time is from 7:30 to 8 a.m. The run starts at 8:15 a.m. and the awards ceremony is a 9 a.m. The cost is $30 on race day and includes a T-shirt. Proceeds benefit the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America.
