It’s a Snap! Cranberry Offers LEGOS Program for Kindergartners

Based on the Bricks 4 Kidz model, the classes begin in February.

Cranberry is making kindergarten a snap.

Once a week, kindergartners in Cranberry can either start or end their school day by assembling LEGO bricks into imaginative forms that engage their curiosity and creativity, a statement from the township said.

Cranberry’s parks and recreation department will begin offering hour-long Bricks 4 Kidz classes on six successive Wednesdays starting Feb. 13.

The programs are built around Bricks 4 Kidz proprietary model plans, designed by engineers and architects, with themes that include space exploration, according to the township.

The company's specially-designed project kits and theme-based models also provide the building blocks for educational play.

Children between the ages of 5 and 6 may be registered for the sessions, which begin at either 10:30 a.m. or 1:30 p.m., in the Cranberry Township Municipal Center.

A program fee of $78, which covers all material used in the class, applies to non-residents. The cost is $72 for Cranberry residents with Resident Discount cards.  Online registration is available at www.cranberrytownship.org/programs
