Holiday Shopping: Fast Track a Train Gift For Around $25

A whole year's worth of trains is something to toot about.

It's right about now that we start thinking about next year.

We looked at the wall calendar today and saw there only are a few more rows of boxes to fill out. It also reminded us we have two dental appointments this week, plus a date for Howard the dog to be groomed.

It also signified that it's time to buy a 2012 calendar.

We plan to go with cute puppies or hot firemen next year, but that's just us. We also spotted the perfect calender for the train lover in your life. Originally we were thinking hobo, but why would a wandering soul need a calendar?

No, this is a gift for the man who collects antique trains, or who always sets up a train at Christmas. It's a 12-month calendar with great big boxes that easily can be filled with dates, appointments and reminders to change the smoke detector batteries.

The calender is for sale at the on Route 19 in Cranberry. It costs about $13. Get two: one for him and one for your grandpa. After all, they both love trains.

If you know a history buff,  the store also carries train calendars from 2010. The calenders sometimes become collector's items.
