Game On: Cranberry Hosting Kindergym

Cranberry's Parks & Recreation Department is enrolling 3, 4, and 5 year olds in the eight-week course.

It’s never too early to start hitting the gym—or burning off your preschooler’s excess energy.

Cranberry's Parks & Recreation Department is now enrolling 3, 4, and 5-year olds in two sections of an eight-week early childhood class on motion and skill development.

Starting March 12, the hour-long Kindergym will be offered Tuesday mornings beginning at 11 a.m. for 3 year olds and at 12:15 p.m. for 4 and 5-year olds.

The lessons use games, music, and movement activities to help in develop both large and small muscle skills.

The class for 4 and 5 year olds builds on the foundation set out in the class for 3 year olds, although that is not a prerequisite for enrollment, a statement from the township said.

The lessons offer more advanced games than the younger class, along with the skills needed to play them. Teamwork is a major emphasis.

All sessions of each class end with a quiet period and a craft.  All children must be potty trained.

A fee of $61 per child for non-residents, $55 for residents with discount IDs, is payable at the time of registration. Online registration is available at www.cranberrytownship.org/programs until the class is filled.
