Forecasters Calling for Snow This Evening

The area is under a winter weather advisory until midnight.

Cranberry-area residents should be prepared for show showers through the evening.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory in effect until midnight for the Upper Ohio Valley Region, including Butler County.

The service said a cold front sweeping through the area would generate snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches, with as much as 4 inches in some areas.

Hazardous travel conditions are expected because of slick roads, the service said.

A winter weather advisory means snowfall will cause travel difficulties. Motorists should be prepared for snow-covered road and limited visibility. Report snow accumulations to the National Weather Service by calling 1-877-633-6772.
