Five Things You Need to Know This Week: Independence Day Edition

1. Cranberry Planning Advisory Commission

Get the scoop on what developments are in the works for Cranberry. The commission meets for its work session at 6 p.m. tonight at the on Rochester Road.

2. Firecracker Family Night Swim

Get an early start on your Independence Day celebration. Tuesday is firecracker night at the . The celebration takes place from 9 to 11 p.m. The cost is $2 for non-pool members. There is no admission price for waterpark members.

3. Big Butler Fair

The biggest fair in Western Pennsylvania kicked off Saturday and the festivities continue through July 7. Featured events include the School Bus Demolition Derby, concerts by The Clarks and Rusted Root, an antique tractor pull and, of course, the annual Fourth of July Fireworks display. 4. Zelienople Rotary Club July 4 Parade and Festivities

The parade on Main Street starts at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Festivities will follow at the Zelienople Community Park. The Phil Harmonic Orchestra will perform at 8:15 p.m. a the park. Fireworks begin just after dusk (usually around 10 p.m.).

5. Cranberry Board of Supervisors Meeting—cancelled
