Five Things You Need to Know This Week

1. No School for Catholic Students 

Bishop David A. Zubik has announced Tuesday, March 19 is a “free day” in honor of Pope Francis’ inaugural public Mass in Rome.

All Catholic schools in the Diocese of Pittsburgh, including St. Kilian in Cranberry and St. Gregory in Zelienople, will be closed on March 19.

2. Cranberry Township Volunteer Fire Company Monthly Meeting

Those interested in becoming a member are welcome to attend the company’s monthly business meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 19 at the at the Cranberry Township Public Safety Training Facility classroom off Route 19 in Cranberry.

3. Kids Night In/Parents Night Out

Kids ages 5 to 12 will enjoy a snack and a movie, themed crafts, games in the gym and Wii from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday, March 22 at the Cranberry Municipal Center while their parents enjoy a night on their own. Preregistration is required. Click here for more information.

4. Suessical the Musical at Calvin Church

Calvin Presbyterian Church in Zelienople presents the musical "Seussical" featuring the Cat in the Hat, Horton the Elephant, a world of Whos and many more favorite Seuss characters.

Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 22 and Saturday, March 23. For reservations, call 724-452-7560 ext. 17 or email calvinchurchzelie@gmail.com.

There is no set admission fee, but donations will be accepted at the door. All the proceeds benefit the Calvin Drama Ministry.

5. Kid's Easter Egg-stravaganza

McGinnis Sisters Special Food Stores Adams Township From 1 to 3 p.m., kids may have their picture taken with the Easter Bunny and receive a free 5X7 inch photo from the Walgreens store located in the Adams Shoppes on Route 228.
