Expect Slowdowns for Short-Term Lane Closures on I-79 for March 12-16

Roadwork will take place Monday through Friday, according to PennDOT. .

I-79 traffic will move a little slower this week as crews continue installing cable median barrier and guide rail between the I-279 and Cranberry exits.

Short-term lane closures will occur Monday through Friday, weather permitting, according to the following schedule:

Northbound:

From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. between Exits 72 (I-279) and the bridge over Mingo Road (about one mile north of Exit 73 Wexford)

From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. from the bridge over Mingo Road to Exit 76 (Cranberry/Route 19)

Southbound:

 From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. between Exits 78 and 73 (Cranberry/PA Turnpike and Wexford)

PennDOT advises motorists to use caution, slow down, and expect changing traffic patterns when traveling through the area. Log on to 511pa.com or call 511 to check traffic conditions on major roadways before traveling.

Swank Associated Companies Inc. of New Kensington is the prime contractor for the work.
