Car Cruise
The historic Meridian Gift Shop and Confectionery, 298 Meridian Road, Butler, will host a summer car cruise sponsored by Butler Area Street Machines, on Friday, July 13 from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. In addition to a variety of classic roadsters, from antique Model T’s to iconic American muscle cars – and everything in between – visitors can enjoy oldies spun by a D.J. under a classic white gazebo, grilled-to-order hamburgers and hot dogs, freshly baked homemade pies, hand-scooped ice cream, classic “penny” candies and an array of other tempting treats, all while earning a 15 percent discount at one of Butler County’s prettiest and most popular gift shops. More than 150 classic cars are expected to occupy the gift shop’s seven acres of open greenery. The Meridian Gift Shop, once the Meridian Station train depot on the Harmony Short Line, hosts a wondrous array of traditional country gifts and uncommon confections, an extraordinary collection of wreaths and garlands, personalized pottery, unique lamps and linens, scented candles and novelty candies. The shop is located in the center of the village of Meridian, about 5 miles west of downtown Butler, off Route 68.
