Easter Weekend Roundup: Egg Hunts, the Bunny Festival and More

Get ready for an egg-cellent weekend!

If you’re on the hunt for more than eggs this Easter weekend, Cranberry Patch has got you covered. There’s a plethora of holiday events happening across the community this weekend. Without further ado, here’s what’s hoppen-ing!

1.  Victory Church Eggstravaganza

When/Where: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. today and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at

Why Go: Welcome to the mother of all Easter egg hunts. The event will feature 80,000 candy-filled Easter eggs across the church’s grass fields in eight hunts. There also will be photos with the Easter Bunny, inflatable rides, balloon artists, a puppet show and more. Parking will be available at Manheim Pittsburgh on Route 19, and there will be continuous shuttles to the church.

Price: Free but bring some cash for the food vendors.

Why Go: Join in on the fun during the town’s Spring Festival with the Lions Easter Egg Hunt. Afterward, head over to the Friends of the Park festival at the community's tennis courts, where there will be an inflatable slide, moon bounce, games, crafts, balloon artists, face painting, photos with the Easter Bunny and more. New this year will be live bunny races. To enter a bunny, call 724-453-5350 or email zim459@zoominternet.net.  

Price: $5 per child. Each balloon from the balloon artists is $1. The cost for face paint is $1 for a small decoration and $2 for a full-face decoration.

3. Soergel's Bunny Festival

When/Where: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Soergel Orchards Farm Market, Wexford.

Why Go: Activities include a scavenger hunt, bounce house, face painting, pony rides and a craft. The Amish also will be on site making their famous donuts. Families can also check out the farm’s baby ducks, chicks and other animals.

Price: The scavenger hunt is free. The cost is $2 for the bounce house, $2 for face painting, $2 for pony rides and $2 to make a craft.

4. Bunnyland at Reilly’s Summer Seat Farm & Garden Center

When/Where: Today and Saturday at the center’s location 1120 Roosevelt Road, Ohio Township. The farm’s hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Why Go: Hop on a hayride to Bunnyland, where the Easter Bunny has his straw egg nests. When the children find 10 eggs, they receive a coupon for an Easter basket. At the market, children can play in a balloon typhoon, have their faces painted, participate in a coloring contest and visit the center’s twin baby goats.

Price: $6.75 to participate in the Easter egg hunt. For trip to Bunnyland only, the cost is $3.

5. Zoo Hop to Spring

When/Where: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium.

Why Go: Travel the bunny trail at the PNC Pavilion and collect stamps for your child’s passport along the way. During your family’s adventure, you'll meet the Easter Bunny, touch animal bio-facts, make a craft and meet Zoo animals. After the trail, join Radio Disney for entertainment, dancing and prizes.

Price: All activities are included with the general admission price.
