Cranberry Primanti Bros: Just How Manly Is It?

The Pittsburgh eatery, with a location in Cranberry, has been named the "Manliest Restaurant in America."

 

They say that the way to a man's heart is through his stomach...so ladies (and perhaps gentleman) you may want to pay close attention to the following information. 

has been named the "Manliest Restaurants in America" by Men's Health magazine. The Pittsburgh staple was first named regional winner of the Mid-Atlantic area but ultimately clinched the top spot from among 45 nominees.

In a press release , the magazine characterized (the now officially macho) Primanti's like this:

"Because sit-down restaurants are for sissies. At Primanti Bros., you order your sandwich with the side dishes stuffed inside it, so you can perform some sort of manual labor with your right hand and eat with your left. The result: a bicep-buster of a sandwich so good you'll (try to) eat the whole thing."

The famed local eatery started in the 1930s when Joe Primanti opened a cart in the Strip District, selling sandwiches to truckers (decidedly the most manly profession) on the go. As legend has it, on a cold winter day, one such trucker came through with some potatoes, which were fried and then put on the sandwiches. The rest is history. 

Primanti Bros. now boasts 20 locations, including . 

The magazine has teamed up with the Travel Channel show, Food Paradise, to feature Primanti Bros. in an hour-long episode of "America's Manliest Restaurants," which will air tonight at 10pm ET.

So Patch peeps, although it’s apparently been decided that Primanti Bros. is the most manly of eateries, of their 20 locations where do you think the Cranberry location ranks in manliness?
