Cranberry Installing New High-Capacity Water Line

No disruptions in water service are expected during the project.

Cranberry residents may want to be on the lookout for construction taking place near Executive Drive in the township starting Monday, March 25.

Cranberry is installing a new high-capacity water line between Freedom and Rochester roads along Executive Drive and Thomson Park Drive.

The 24-inch main, which links the township’s northern and southern water transmission circuits, will enable the system to deliver enough water to meet the future requirements of Cranberry’s expanding commercial sector as well as its fast-growing northern neighborhoods, according to the township.

The line is designed to boost fire protection, improve water quality, increase water flow, and enhance Cranberry’s water storage capability.

A pedestrian walkway above the new line also will be part of the project.

The contractor for the project is Thomas Construction. Work is expected to be complete by Nov. 1.

No water service disruptions are anticipated during the project. Executive Drive should remain open during construction. Traffic controls will be used as needed during the work.
