Christmas 2012 in Cranberry: What's Open? What's Closed?

Need to run some last-minute errands? Forgot to grab someone a gift? Hungry? Patch gives you a rundown of local openings and closings for the holiday.

Starbucks: If you’re battling droopy eyes from all last-minute holiday shopping, the Starbucks store in the Cranberry Commons shopping center on Route 228 is open until 6 p.m. Christmas Eve. The location on Freedom Road is open until 7 p.m. Dec. 24. While both stores are closed Christmas Day, the Franklin Park location is open Dec. 25 if you’re in need of a caffeine fix.

Marty's Suburban Bar and Grill: The Cranberry hangout is open 365 days a year, and Christmas is no exception. The restaurant typically plans a feast with all the fixings for Christmas Day. As usual, the restaurant opens at 7 a.m. The bar stays open until 2 a.m.

Denny's – the chain restaurant is open 24 hours, seven days a week. Christmas Day does not change that.

Cranberry Cinemas: December is a blockbuster month for movies. After the little ones open the presents, take them to see Rise of the Guardians in 3D. If kid movies aren’t your thing, the highly-anticipated The Hobbit is in theaters now. Also opening Christmas Day is Les Miserables. Click here for show times.

Convenience stores –Convenience means being open all the time, including Christmas Day. The Sheetz on Freedom Road is open as is the Co-Go's on Route 19 and which has locations on Glen Eden Road and Route 228.

Giant Eagle: The locations on Route 228 in Seven Fields and on Route 19 in Cranberry are both open until 5 p.m. on Christmas Eve. The stores are closed Christmas Day.

Shop ‘n Save: The location on Freedom Road is open until 6 p.m. Christmas Eve. The grocer is closed Christmas Day.

Seneca Valley School District: Closed until Jan 3.

Cranberry Township Public Library: Closed through Dec. 26. The library also will be closed on Dec. 31 and Jan. 1.

Cranberry Township offices: The Cranberry Township administrative offices on Rochester Road close at noon Monday, Dec. 24. The municipal center and offices are closed Christmas Day.

Cranberry Highland Golf Course and Clubhouse: On Monday, Dec. 24th, the Pro Shop will be open from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. The shop will be closed Tuesday, Dec. 25 through Tuesday, Jan. 1.

Post Offices – Closed Christmas Day

State Stores - All stores closed Christmas Day.

Port Authority of Allegheny County – Port Authority buses, T and incline service will operate on holiday schedules on Christmas Day. The Downtown Service Center will be closed that day and Port Authority’s Customer Service phone line will be open holiday hours, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

On Christmas Eve, service will operate on weekday schedules and the Downtown Service Center will be open regular hours (8 a.m. to 5 p.m.).
