DESCRIPTION:Celebrate Life\, Celebrate Art is Persad Center's premier fun
 draising event. Now in its 24th year\, this annual art auction has succe
 ssfully generated over $3.5 million to benefit Persad Center's specializ
 ed counseling\, HIV prevention\, outreach\, education\, training and adv
 ocay services.\nThe year's event\, whcih will be held on Monday\, May 14
 \, 2012 at the August Wilson Center for African American Culture\, will 
 draw over 1\,800 people and feature more than 225 works of art by region
 ally and nationally recognized artists. The evening includes verbal and 
 silent auctions\, dining and beverage service\, specialty coffees and de
 sserts\, and a variety of popular entertainment. The event promises to a
 ttract a diverse crowd including business and community leaders\, region
 al artists\, and professionals of all ages.
