Third Annual Polar Plunge at Heinz Field for Special Olympics. Sunday, Dec. 2

The Polar Plunge at Heinz Field is a law enforcement-driven fundraising event that challenges an individual or group to enter into the cold Allegheny River in order to raise money for Special Olympics of Pennsylvania.

Plunge participants set a fundraising goal and get pledges from family, friends and colleagues for their commitment to be “freezin' for a reason.” Polar Plunge benefits more than 20,000 Special Olympics Pennsylvania athletes—the state’s largest year-round organization devoted to sports training and competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.

By being a part of the Plunge challenge, you are allowing thousands upon thousands of children and adults with intellectual disabilities to experience a brighter tomorrow. So dare to Plunge!

Since 2010, the Polar Plunge in Pittsburgh has raised more than $400,000 for the amazing and wonderful athletes who participate in Special Olympics Pennsylvania!
